Whilst the International Foundation for Electoral Systems' observers found that "the El Salvador voting process was conducted in an orderly, peaceful and transparent fashion which permitted the popular will of the Salvadoran people to be expressed", concerns were also raised about the number of voter applications the Court rejected, often due to lack of documentation. The first challenge the new Court faced was the 1994 Salvadoran general election. One of these reforms was the conversion of the Central Electoral Council into the Supreme Electoral Court, and the addition of the two non-partisan members onto the makeup of the Court. In April 1991, during the negotiations between the government of El Salvador and the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front to end the Salvadoran Civil War, an agreement was reached to reform various articles of the Constitution. This is the same set of procedures taken for the three political members of the Court today. The constitution of 15 December 1983 changed the way that the Central Electoral Council was appointed it stated that the three members of the Council would be chosen by the Legislative Assembly, with one each being chosen from slates proposed by the three political parties or coalitions with the largest vote share in the last presidential elections. However, this structure was criticised as leading to electoral processes falling under the control of the executive branch, and led to accusations of political bias. The 1962 constitution maintained the same structure. It was formed of three members and three deputies, all chosen by the Legislative Assembly for a period of three years from lists proposed by the Supreme Court and the executive branch. The 1950 constitution of El Salvador established a Central Electoral Council ( Spanish: Consejo Central de Elecciones, CCE) as the "highest authority of electoral matters".

Now everybody will want to take my idea.” “He said, ‘Son, I’m madder than hell about it. Gary Neeleman remembers his father’s reaction to the national publicity. The all-day, all-night business’ reputation spread to the point that the national magazine Argosy sent a reporter and photographer to Salt Lake City to do a feature story on “the biggest little store in America.” The first Miniature Market on 600 South and State Street was such a hit he opened two more, one on 3300 South and another on Highland Drive. His idea was to create a store that would be open at all hours and conveniently provide everything anyone needed, including freshly made sandwiches. He had noticed that large supermarket chains were driving the traditional corner markets out of business. But in 1951 nobody knew that term because Johnny Neeleman had just invented the concept. Today they’d be called convenience stores. ‘All about family’: How those closest to Zach Wilson - Ute fans to the core - influenced his football trajectory and played a hand in landing him at BYUīut to get to the original high-energy source you have to go back to John “Johnny” Neeleman, David’s grandfather.īorn in 1911 to Dutch immigrants who arrived in Utah with their membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the catalyst that brought them here, and little else, John Neeleman went from nothing to own and operate no less than nine businesses in his lifetime, among them a chain of stores he called Miniature Markets. BYU’s Zach Wilson: Inside the making of a future first-round NFL draft pick. The family tree is full of stories of innovation, overachieving and never slowing down.ĭavid’s younger brother Stephen, for example, built from scratch Draper-based HealthEquity, the largest health care savings plan in the nation his father, Gary, rose from cub reporter to the top echelons of United Press International - and today at 87 remains Brazilian Honorary Consul for Utah and with his wife, Rose, is working on their 13th book and you may have heard of his nephew Zach Wilson, his sister Lisa and husband Mike Wilson’s son, the expected high first-round NFL draft pick this year despite being a lightly recruited quarterback out of high school - to list just a few of many examples. He wasn’t the first Neeleman to act like this, nor the last. It was the public’s first glimpse into his ability to look at what everyone else was looking at and see opportunities and improvements no else could see. That’s how the entrepreneurial force that is David Neeleman began. There was money to make and deals to be made. When it turned out there was a healthy market for the rentals, Neeleman upped the ante and partnered with airlines and hotels to create low-cost Hawaiian getaway packages. He took out an ad in the newspaper (this was 1981, people did that back then) offering Hawaii condos for $50 to $75 a night. That set Neeleman’s mind to whirling: If they’re just sitting empty, why not rent the condos until they’re sold? He was in his second year at the university just another business major looking to get started on his first million, when a classmate told him about a relative who was having trouble selling timeshares at a condo project he owned in Honolulu. You might say his secret to success is getting bankrupted, laid off or fired. That’s the motivation that created Morris Air, WestJet, JetBlue and Azul, all of them airlines that went where others didn’t and did things others wouldn’t.Īnd that’s the motivation behind Breeze, his new airline headquartered along the Wasatch Front in Cottonwood Heights scheduled to open this summer that will connect regional cities and “fly where people don’t fly,” in addition to revolutionizing the flight attendant industry and setting new standards in being “nice.”Īlmost 40 years ago, he was working toward a degree at the University of Utah when he took the first of the many detours that have defined his career. Ask him why, and he’ll tell you it’s for two simple reasons: When he sees a niche he likes to fill it, and he loves to make life better for people. Labor costs consist of preparation and setup, the removal process, and proper disposal. Most of the costs of asbestos clean-up are related to labor, which you can expect to pay between $400 and $600 per hour on average. Invalid zip code Labor Costs to Remove Asbestos Cramped crawlspaces and attics can also be on the higher end due to the hazards of tight spaces. Working outside on roofs or siding is generally more expensive than working inside on floors or ceilings. The lower the risk and difficulty of the removal, the less it will cost. That is why many licensed asbestos removalists charge $5 to $20 per sq.ft., although the price can go as high as $150 per sq.ft. Mostly, asbestos is found in small areas like attics, crawlspaces, or the floors and ceilings in one room. Asbestos Removal Cost Asbestos Removal Price Costs can be as low as $200 per hour for removing white asbestos from the outside of a home, but they can also run as high as $800 per hour to remove blue asbestos from throughout your home and make necessary repairs from the removal. On average, asbestos abatement costs $400 to $600, with the average homeowner paying $500 per hour for testing and removal of brown asbestos inside the house. Some contractors charge per square foot, but prices per hour are also common and often easier to budget due to the wide variety of asbestos removal requirements. Prices vary mainly depending on the location where asbestos is found. Removing asbestos from an entire home, including walls, floor, roof, ceiling, and pipes, can be expensive. The strict regulations surrounding the removal of asbestos and the high risk to the remover’s health make this a task that a professional should always do. Because of this, it is now deemed a health hazard and typically removed during any type of renovation process.Īsbestos removal is a complicated and sometimes dangerous process that requires specialized knowledge to complete the job. Exposure to asbestos fibers has been linked to major health conditions, such as lung cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestosis. Once known as the “miracle mineral,” asbestos was regularly used in everyday building projects until the 80s due to its durable fibers and resistance to heat, fire, and many types of chemicals. Painting the island a cheery, contrast shade allows a quick and easy refresh that can work wonders on a tired kitchen, without committing to a full room redo. Experiment with a waterfall edgeĪ central island is the optimum place for adding a pop of colour as part of your kitchen colour scheme to a neutral kitchen or dated decor. A wide island counter or baker’s table will provide a generous and welcoming gathering place, especially when lined with textural barstools.’ 2. Not only this, but the kitchen is also a homework base, a relaxed office space and a home bar. There is a time and a place for formal dining, but the modern kitchen has to be able to accommodate an impromptu pasta with friends, or an unforeseen stir fry with the family. ‘I do not believe that the dining room is a redundant space, but the kitchen is becoming a dual-functional space for cooking as well as eating, meaning open-plan living with seating has to be second nature. 'I prefer to place the seating arrangement closest to the entrance so that guests and family will gravitate towards the seating area, not where cooking or baking is happening! ‘There are several options when it comes to kitchen seating, whether it’s dining seat height or bar stool height, depending on your needs,' says Nikki Stewart designer at Tom Howley. Kitchen island seating is a great way to create a sociable space and encourages people to sit and spend time gathered at the island. The island support system can also be modified to support an overhang on all four sides of an island.A kitchen island is a great way to add extra seating to your kitchen and provide a more casual dining area. To support the ends we use our patented Island Extension Brackets that are mechanically fastened to the adjacent Island Bracket allowing us to support overhangs on up to three sides of the Kitchen Island. The flange is short enough so that it doesn't interfere with the drawers or doors. The brackets are then attached to the cabinet by way of a small flange with two screws. 5" slot is cut in the front of the cabinets for the brackets to rest in. The installation is a very simple process. Next we see the Island Brackets installed within the cabinets. Typically you will see an overhang on one side only as is it difficult to support overhangs on multiple sides without giant corbels. It’s a great bracket and perfect for most Countertop Islands.īelow are several images one of our customers sent us showing the Island Brackets in place.īelow we see the finished product with a 12 inch overhang on three sides. Once mounted the countertop support creates a cantilever, leveraging the weight of the countertop as well as the ½ inch steel. The countertop support then runs through the cabinet and rests in a ½ x 2 ½ inch notch in the back side of the cabinet.īefore the countertop is mounted we suggest that the installer apply a bead of “Liquid Nail” on the top of the countertop support. The flange is short, hidden from view and does not interfere with the operation of the drawers. The countertop support has a ½ inch x 4 inch flange on the back that mounts via two screws (the screws are provided with the countertop support) to the inside of the cabinet face frame. The Countertop Island Support is a solid ½ inch by 2 ½ inch steel bar that runs through the base cabinet (see the image above) and extends to the length of the overhang minus a couple of inches to keep the countertop support hidden from view. Countertop Island Supports are a great choice for supporting heavy countertops such as granite, quartz or butcher-block in an application where no knee wall exists and the countertop extends directly off the base cabinets. iPulse is known for its detoxification benefits. Personally, I would replace all of the cells in the pack with new cells (or even used ones from places like BatteryHookup). If the cells are cylindrical, you won't see the swelling that would usually occur with cells damaged in this way that you can see with pouch style cells. If cells are actually at negative voltage, they are very likely permanently damaged, possibly in a way that could result in fire if recharged. Also, do those negative numbers indicate there are other issues, such as the BMS being bad, or is that just another sign of bad cells? My question is, is this configuration somewhat typical? Do you think I could find an aftermarket battery with the same voltage configuration? Most batteries I see don't provide this much detail. With a charger connected to the battery, the discharge port was putting out two different voltages, presumably the 54 volts is to power the motor, and I’m sure the low voltage serves a purpose as well. The battery is dolphin style and it would be very easy to replace it with a new aftermarket model that comes with a mounting bracket, which are way cheaper, but I have a question about that. Unfortunately, I’m not really equipped to rebuild it myself. They cost more than I would expect for a rebuild, but there may be a reason for that. A factory replacement is not available but I do see some rebuilt ones available. Needless to say, this is bad news, but I can’t say that I’m surprised, I have reason to believe that the bike sat unridden and uncharged for a long time. I have reason to believe this bike has low mileage, so this battery is probably worth trying to fix. For a second I thought maybe I attached the charger to the discharge port with the polarity reversed, but then I remembered that I checked the voltage during the one minute the charger was attached to make sure it was getting a charge, and it was connected correctly.Īny and all ideas and advice is much appreciated. Due to the (clear) shrink wrap I wasn't able to get to the BMS yet to try a hard reset, and this is where I stopped.Īn interesting note to add, and one of the reasons I decided to post this is, after I did the previous tests and attempts to reset the BMS, I got a very low but negative reading at the discharge port. I opened the battery case and everything looks new inside, there's no indication of any short circuits or water damage or anything like that.I tried a soft reset on the BMS by charging the battery for a only a minute via the discharge port, but no luck there, it still doesn't charge. There was 54 volts at the discharge port with the charger plugged in. When I plugged this charger in, the light stayed green on the charger instead of changing to amber and the fan turning on as it normally does when it's charging a battery. I tried a known working charger with the same specifications and plug type. The charger has a green light before plugging it into the battery, it blinks red when plugged into the battery, and there is zero voltage at the discharge port with the charger left plugged in. I attempted to test the output voltage of factory charger, but I think this charger is one that doesn't put out any voltage until there is a load. With battery off the bike and no charger, there is zero voltage at the charge and discharge ports, and obviously no lights at charge level indicator on the battery. The symptom the dreaded blinking red light on the charger, so I knew right away that aside from anything else that might be wrong, there's either a battery or charger problem. I have been down this road before, and thanks to all the amazing advice, tips and tricks I have received on this forum in the past, I at least knew where to start with troubleshooting. I picked up a used, non-operational iZip E3 Dash, the price and the challenge to get it back on the road were too great to resist  The arrival of the protagonist's Magical Girlfriend makes her intensely jealous and always vying for his attention.
